COSMETIC SURGERY INSURANCE
We are happy to be able to offer you insurance against some complications of cosmetic surgery. Thankfully complications are not common, but sometimes they do happen. When they do occur, we want you to be assured that your financial responsibility will be minimised or eliminated for revisional surgery. Some complications are not covered by insurance, but some of the more important ones are. If you would like to take out insurance please let us know and please make sure you tell us at least a week before your operation. Call us on 0800-6-12-0-886; simply tell us your name, date of operation and confirm that you want to take out insurance and we will set it up for you. Please note you cannot take out the insurance once you have had your operation.
The insurance costs £225 for the first year and £99 for up to two further years' of cover. The insurance covers you for surgery up to the value of £4000 for a single procedure and £6000 for multiple procedures. The insurance may not cover the whole cost of surgery and will not cover the cost of additional consultation fees.
WHAT DOES IT COVER
The insurance offered by BeautySure covers several medical problems that can sometimes occur after surgery. These include capsular contracture where the breast implant needs to be removed or replaced, dog ears after a tummy tuck operation, haematoma requiring draining of blood, MRSA infection requiring antibiotic treatment, scarring requiring surgical intervention, seroma requiring treatment to drain fluid and tissue necrosis. The policy does not cover dissatisfaction with the result, and this is something we would hope to avoid with a proper comprehensive consultation before the operation.
WHO PROVIDES THE INSURANCE
The insurance company we use is called BeautySure. More information on them is available here. They are an insurance company and the insurance they offer is underwritten by Lloyds of London and they are regulated by the FSA. They offer insurance services to a select few plastic surgeons and your policy is taken out through Mr Shoaib. If you make a claim on your policy, the money goes to the surgical provider to cover some or all of the costs of remedial surgery, and not to the patient as compensation.
HOW DO I SET IT UP
If you would like insurance through Mr Shoaib and BeautySure, please let us know a few days before your operation is due that you would like to take up the insurance offer.
